Spartan Peripheral Devices’ V411 and V431 Universal 2-way and 3-way valve bodies have been specifically designed as the perfect response to customers’ requests for reduced inventory. This universality also gives the installer an opportunity to easily make any last minute modifications from a 2-way to a 3-way body if constant flow or bypass relief is required.
We are often asked a question if this was the best thing to do; that is using a bottom or side plug or flange to convert a 3-way in to a 2-way. In fact, all valve bodies are closed with a top or bottom flange after the internals are installed. The variations in the look of the valve cavity vary from manufacturer to manufacturer depending on how the valve seat, plug, stem and packing are designed.  For example:  a VB8213 series Invensys or Schneider Electric have a bottom blind flange installed on a 2-way valve body. Many others do the same thing in different ways.
Spartan Peripheral Devices designed this universality right from the start. The bottom portion of the valve plunger required for 3-way valves is always assembled in the body and even if it is not used in the 2-way valve the plunger bottom portion acts as a guide. Guided plugs are featured in the industrial valve bodies to prevent vibration at extreme differential pressures.
Many other features are included in our commercial valve body product line.
